The night skies were clouded that night and not a star could be seen. The wind blew
strongly and it was forecasted that there would be a thunderstorm. Halfway through their drive to
Bridge Lane, the rain started falling. Gauging the traffic, Zayne then said to Jace who sat in the
backseat and was silent throughout their drive, “Sir, there’s road construction going on in front and it’s
causing heavy traffic. Should we take another route?”
Jace recalled the route that Sage too him and immediately ordered the driver to change to another
route.
The route was not visible on the GPS and Jace had to give the directions.
The alternative route was so rocky and bumpy that the car shook a lot. With one hand holding onto the
car seat and the other hand holding the porcelains , Jace tightened his grip slightly and frowned
Zayne took a glimpse at Jace’s hand and his face went pale immediately. “Sir, you’re bleeding!” He
quickly reached for the first-aid box and plastered a band-aid on Jace. “Sir, you should take better care
of your hands. It’s not worth it to hurt yourself for that small piece of porcelain.”
Unbothered, Jace took back his hand and replied, “It’s fine.”
Holding the porcelain tightly in his hand, he was worried that it would be knocked over. Jace then said
to the driver, “It’s a rough trail, it’s okay to drive slowly.”
“Yes, Sir,” the driver replied, “it’s a muddy trail here. We’ll be fine after this part.”
Jace said, “Okay” and turned to look out the window. He thought to himself, ‘You must be happy that all
of your brothers are there, aren’t you?’
Seth was the next to arrive.
He did not see Nigel for a long time. After several exchanges with each other, Nigel looked curiously at
the bag that Seth held, and asked, “Seth, what’s that you’re holding?” “What else do you think? It’s for
Sage.” Looking at Sage with a gentle smile on his face, Seth said, “Your hair today would go well with
the costume that I got for you.”
“Costume?”
Sage was yet to recover from the shock she got from receiving Nigel and Luther’s present and Seth
getting her a costume.
The moment Seth pulled out the costume from the bag, Sage was stunned. “That… is the one that
Nancy from the Little Princess wore?” With a wide grin on his face, Seth nodded.
Sage’s eyes lit up immediately. At the mention of Little Princess, Nigel suddenly recalled something.
“Oh, that’s the movie that you liked when you were little, right? That female lead wore this dress.”
Sage always liked watching TV. She spent most of her days watching TV during the times when she
was not allowed to go outside.
Luther added, “I remember that you used to love Little Princess a lot and even tried to play pretend as
her. You even cut up several dresses of mom’s to make your dress, didn’t you? And your mom chased
you down the streets and you came to me to ask for help…”
“Oh gosh, Luther…” Sage was embarrassed, “please stop bringing up my past.” Seeing how Sage was
embarrassed, her three brothers could not help but burst out in laughter. They all had their fair shares
of embarrassing moments. Seth smiled at Sage adoringly. Even his father did not know he entered the
entertainment industry not because he did not wish to take over his father’s business, but simply
because he wanted to fulfill Sage’s dreams. He wanted Sage to be able to see him on the big screen,
playing different types of roles. Sage liked that costume. “Seth, how did you manage to get this?”
“I’ve asked Aunt Florence for a favor. I’ve asked her to make a similar one and Xavier helped out too.”
