He was almost whispering, “I miss her, and I miss our baby.”
Sage looked at the mist that clouded her brother’s eyes and then subsided, as though they never
appeared. Her heart twitched upon the sight. Her beloved sister-in-law, Tim’s dear wife, passed away
five years ago. She had a baby of five months in her womb when she did. Sofia was her brother’s only
love in this life.
She died to save her brother, however, a part of Tim seemed to die too after she passed away.
The Shelby’s had an old myth, passed down from a century ago, “Mister Shelby’s wife, will be
sacrificing her life for the family.”
There was not one Mrs Shelby in history who seemed to dodge the curse.
After Sofia passed away, Tim was living like a walking corpse for a long time. His mother came to see
him in Yathein, and she remembered Tim saying to her, “There were numerous times I felt myself
nearing death, however this time, I felt it the closest.” Maybe, his soul died.
The one living right now, was not Tim anymore, but Duke Shelby, Mister Shelby.
“Tim,” Sage touched the corner of his eyes, and said, “You have aged so much, you have wrinkles
now.”
Tim slapped her hand away, and said, “Go away. You have wrinkles.”
“Don’t be gloomy, it’s not cool at all.” Sage said, “Let me tell you something interesting, for instance,
Ross’s little one, Melody, fell for a playboy. Kane has finally found the girl who kicked his ass when he
was a kid. Seth is in a relationship with the prettiest girl ever in Salem, while Nigel and Sean are in a
stable relationship and we could expect to attend their wedding soon, and Luther is still the same…”
Sage went on and on. She felt like spilling all about her brothers’ stupid stories for Tim.
Tim watched quietly as she blabbered. He was smiling slightly, and occasionally responded a sentence
or two, most of which involved unexpectedly roasting her with no mercy.
It had been a long time since Meadow Castle was so noisy.
This little girl that grew up in his lap was finally an adult now, and started talking about love and
relationship
What never changed was the fact that she was the sunshine to all her brothers. On the other hand,
Jace heard from Laura and Yoel that Sage had been safely picked up by her brother Tim, and was
finally relieved. Jace did not sleep the whole day and night yesterday. He rubbed his forehead, and laid
on the sofa, exhausted, His lips were loosened in delight.
Thank God that she was safe,
Someone knocked on his door, Zayne came in and passed a stack of papers to Jace,
“Mister Jace, the Y1106 flight’s crash had been investigated. It seemed to have been caused by an
accident, as to whether or not there were humans behind this, we are still investigating.”
Jace took the stack of information, and started reading it through. He asked, “Any updates about
Jekyll?”
“No,” Zayne continued, “Cole was moved here from Nadeem City, and he was watching Jekyll closely.
If the procedures are fast, I guess Jekyll will be sent back to Tovres soon.” Jace was quiet, then asked,
“What about Sienna?” “I had someone watching her too,” Zayne said, “She settled in a hotel after
arriving in Salem City, I checked, the hotel was paid by the people who bailed her out.” He paused and
said, “Yesterday night, Peter Walter entered the hotel room where Sienna was, and only came out the
next morning.”
Not sure what they had done the whole night? They could not be talking about movie scripts, could
they?
Zayne was secretly judging deep down, but he did not say a word more, and observed Jace’s
expressions. Jace was still expressionless, and only instructed, “Okay, keep watching.” His instincts
told him that Sienna’s trip to Salem City was not as simple as looking for the next person.
Nevertheless, why did Jekyll choose her as his “pawn”
