Yoel was both surprised to see his former mate and shocked by Laura’s words. He twisted his waist yet
once again. That was how both Laura and Yoel ended up on the clinic beds, both getting massages
and treatments.
Melody gave Yoel a massage with her excellent masseuse skills. Yoel enjoyed it a lot. However, no one
seemed to care about Yoel as they all looked at Sage and Laura.
Kane looked at Laura’s tiny waist full of concern and asked, “Will she suffer from any long term
complications?” Sage prepped the needles as she responded lightly, “It may be difficult for her to make
a full recovery.”
Kane’s sharp brows furrowed hard.
Yoel was lying face down, but it did not stop him from talking. He took a look at Laura with his head
tilted.
“Weren’t you injured from the Mission Rohaim years ago? I remembered that you were nearly
paralyzed from the waist down, and we all thought you had to retire. We thought you were fully healed
when you came back three months later.”
He added, “Why don’t you just get married and live a domestic life? You’re almost thirty now.” “Oh, shut
up! I’m not like you. I don’t have an empire to inherit after my retirement.” Laura spoke with a pale face
and an agitated look without forgetting to mock him. “Who was I going to marry? You?”
Melody and Kane both kept quiet. Yoel quickly replied, “Don’t! I can’t marry you. I’m not
interested in men.”
Jace glared at Yoel and said, “Just keep quiet.”
Laura was unbothered. She scoffed and said, “I’m much more manly than you. At least I’m willing to
own up to the things I’ve done.”
Yoel was unhappy with that statement. “What did I do? When did I not own up to anything?”
“You should know better!” Laura looked in Melody’s direction and said, “Young girl, don’t be afraid. Tell
us what he did to you, and we’ll ensure that he takes care of you. We’ll punch him if he doesn’t!”
Yoel was speechless. How did she pick up that topic again? He was innocent!
Melody smiled and said, “It’s okay, Laura. Nothing happened. Even if something were to happen, it’d
most likely be me doing something to him.”
Yoel was astounded. Did he understand that correctly?
“You go, girl!”
Laura gave a thumbs-up to Melody. After knowing that she was Sage’s niece, Laura said, “Just call me
Aunt Laura. I will most likely be best friends with your Aunt Sage.”
Sage smiled as she sterilized the needles. She thought that she would get close with Laura as well
since they were pretty similar by nature. Sage believed in first impressions.
As Melody was about to open her mouth, Kane walked over and said, “That’s right, you should call her
Aunt. She’s mine.”
Melody stunned. “Yours?”
Laura was dumbfounded as well. She turned to look at Kane. How did he manage to say it out loud
with no expressions?
Laura smiled politely, “Excuse me? Are you mental? You’ve got the wrong gal, pal.” She had not even
settled the part where he stalked her!
