Sage was on her way back to Rosa Garden. As the car drove away, she looked in the rear-view mirror
and saw Jace standing in the same spot, not moving. His figure became smaller and smaller until it
disappeared from her sight.
She retracted her gaze and stared at the bouquet of pink roses in her hand with mixed feelings.
In the past, she hoped he would give her flowers every Valentine’s day like any couple would do. She
was happy, even if it was just one stalk. However, he never gave her any. She comforted herself,
thinking that he probably just did not understand romance at all.
However, she finally understood that men were not entirely slow-witted in romance. Rather, they just
did not care until the right person came.
She could not have his love before. When she could finally have it, she no longer wanted it. See,
people were hard to please. Things just did not work out the way she wanted.
Sage smiled coldly.
There was a saying that a good marriage would teach people to love others, and a bad marriage would
teach people to love themselves more. She should keep everything to herself for the rest of her life and
live well. Sage leaned back in her chair, physically and mentally exhausted. She closed her eyes and
tried to sleep for a while. Strangely enough, she just could not sleep. She was very tired, but as soon
as she closed her eyes, her terrible experience from the past kept replaying ir
from the past kept replaying in her mind. These memories about her parents and her were locked in the
depth of her memory, but everything resurfaced because of Jekyll’s return.
A thin layer of cold sweat covered her forehead. She finally woke up when her bodyguard reminded her
softly, “Miss, we’re almost home.”
The bodyguard looked at her shocked face and asked with concern, “Miss, are you alright?”
Sage calmed down and used the back of her hand to wipe the cold sweat on her forehead. She rasped,
“I’m fine.”
The black Lolls-Loyce was approaching Rosa Garden. The car’s dazzling headlight illuminated the
road and people ahead. It seemed like someone was causing a scene in front of Rosa Garden.
The bodyguard in the passenger seat narrowed his eyes. “Who’s making a scene in front of Rosa
Garden? How bola!”
Sage looked ahead and frowned. Looking at the two figures in front, why do they look like Yeva and…
Julian?
“Yeva, please, come back with me.”
Julian begged Yeva, “Today is Valentine’s day. Please, give me a chance.”
Yeva turned away as tears streamed down her cheek. She looked very sad and could not help but
touch her flat belly.
Julian’s gaze followed her action. His eyes moved when he saw her hand on her belly. Julian knelt,
hugged her, and put his face on her belly. “Please, forgive me for the sake of the child. Do you want the
child to be born without a father?”
Yeva’s heart ached so much that tears were pouring down her face.
“You’re the one who didn’t want me. Didn’t you choose Queenie instead of me? “Don’t mention that
gold digger Queenie. She’s just a shameless b*tch!
Julian mentioned Queenie with a scowl on his face. He viciously said, “That woman claims to love me,
but when my family loses power, she runs faster than a rabbit in fear of getting into trouble. Hmph. I
should’ve known. She came to me only for my money!”
